What is your music background:
My dad bought me my first guitar at age 12 and spent my teens jamming with my uncle, guitar legend John Mair. I studied Western Classical Performance at UCT under James Grace, and since graduating in 2007 I’ve been working as a session guitarist and music teacher.
What are your musical influences:
I grew up listening to my dads Pink Floyd albums, but I started playing guitar after hearing Nirvana Unplugged. I cut my guitar teeth jamming along to Metallica and Gary Moore albums, and failing miserably trying to follow Steve Vai.
What music gear can’t you live without?
My limited edition Ibanez RG has been my main axe for almost 20 years. It’s like a limb to me.
